While I typically only use images that I have created with my camera, in this series I have made an exception. In art nudity is usually a metaphor for many things. It can symbolize innocence, dreams, nature, and even vulgarity yet it almost always means more than flesh.

I wanted a series of nudes but I wanted those that are usually ignored, because they don't meet the commercial standards of youth, style, and sexuality. I also wanted images that were not pretentious with glamour, glitz, and masterful photography.

I have always enjoyed amateur nudes and I decided to use this. The Internet was a great place to find what I wanted because of all the imagery of ordinary people who offer us their allure.

I took these pictures but I wanted to change them to something beyond a soft porn image. I wanted a metaphor for our own lonely, usually frustrated, simple, and yet beautiful sexuality. I also wanted to mix them with the sexuality of plants.... their flowers. To me there is relationship with these short lived blooming paintings that seldom get pollinated (relative to their numbers) and our own fantasies that usually as hopelessly barren... yet sweet.
